“Say Anything, Do Anything”: Kamala's Changing Policy Positions Demonstrate She Will Do Anything to Win
In 2019, Kamala Harris was ranked the most liberal senator in the U.S., with policy stances ranging from abortion up to birth to confiscating firearms. Her extreme liberalism failed to earn her the support of her party to run as a Democratic presidential candidate, and she dropped out of the race before voting even began.
Fast-forward to 2024. Amid another presidential election cycle, Kamala suddenly became the Democratic Party candidate. It was the first time in 50 years a candidate earned that status without a single primary vote. She has flip-flopped and lied about key policies — refusing to talk about them or leaving staffers to do it for her.
As one commentator summarized, “Vice President Kamala Harris is letting unnamed subordinates announce major policy shifts on issues ... rather than remarking on them herself, a strategy that helps immunize her from criticism” and keeps her flip-flops “somewhat below the radar.”
Kamala claims her “values have not changed.” But what are those values? Killing babies up to the moment of birth? Radicalizing the culture to adhere to an extreme LGBTQ+ agenda? Empowering the government to confiscate property? That’s just naming a few.
Her silence, lies, and otherwise convoluted statements allow her to conveniently explain away her extreme and shifting policy positions. Furthermore, not only is she misleading voters, but she is doing so by seemingly adopting some of Trump’s stances.
Evidence suggests Kamala will simply say or do anything to ascend to the position of "leader of the free world.” Voters need to beware of these six "then and now” major public policy pivots before casting their ballots this November:
#1 The Border Wall
THEN: Between 2017 and 2019, Kamala repeatedly mocked Trump’s border wall, calling it “a stupid use of money,” “a medieval vanity project,” and a “complete waste of taxpayer money.” She backed up her derogatory statements by co-sponsoring the RAIDER Act, which included language to block construction of the wall at the U.S. southern border.
NOW: In a dubious about-face, and after unrelenting scrutiny related to her failure as “border czar,” Kamala stated she would sign the bipartisan border security bill that she criticized Trump for opposing. The bill, which was flawed from the get-go, would have deepened the border crisis by codifying “crisis levels of daily illegal immigration.” Nevertheless, it did include funding of the wall.
In other words, she flip-flopped, and not just to another position — but to the very position she was infamous for opposing.
#2 Gun Confiscation
THEN: During a 2019 campaign event, Kamala called for a mandatory buyback of assault weapons (a term that has no standard definition though is often defined as including semiautomatic weapons). She elaborated on this during an appearance on the Tonight Show, stating “I do believe that we need to do buybacks [of assault weapons capable of killing multiple people at a time],” calling them a “good idea.”
NOW: During the presidential debate, she was specifically asked about her past support for a “buyback” program and why so many of her policy positions have changed.
She responded, "My values have not changed.”
When Trump further criticized her for the call to buy back guns, she finally elaborated: “Tim Walz and I are both gun owners. We're not taking anybody's guns away.”
As a presidential candidate, she should be clear and address why she did a 180 on one of her most controversial policy positions.
#3 Abortion
THEN: In 2019 and 2020, then-Senator Harris co-sponsored the 2019 Women’s Health Protection Act, the most aggressive pro-abortion federal legislation ever introduced, and voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act — twice. The former would have permitted abortion up to birth for any reason — invalidating all state-level protections for unborn children after the point of viability up until birth, gutting health and safety regulations, prohibiting pre-abortion ultrasounds, and more. The latter simply sought to ensure abortionists are held accountable if they kill or neglect to care for babies born alive after failed abortions.
NOW: Asked if she would support any restrictions on abortion during the presidential debate, Kamala responded: “I absolutely support reinstating the protections of Roe v. Wade.” As her 2019 and 2020 stances demonstrate, she supports zero restrictions. And the reality is the only “protection” Roe offered — if one can call it that — was to let states determine their own health and safety standards (if any) and require states to offer abortion up to viability – or beyond and up to birth if they wanted, which some did.
Perhaps Kamala needs an opportunity to clarify what “protections” she’s talking about — but don’t hold your breath. Her off-the-cuff commentary on this issue shows that she really will do or say anything to pass her radical abortion agenda. Even if it means outright lying on national television. When Trump pointed out that abortions could and did occur during all nine months of pregnancy under Roe, Kamala responded with an emphatic, “That’s not true.”
Except it is.
If that’s not enough to convince voters of her extremism on the abortion issue, Kamala is also in favor of eliminating the filibuster — a cornerstone of our government — as a means of ensuring abortion is allowed up to birth for any reason. Such a radical and reckless position led Senator Joe Manchin to declare he will not be supporting her, saying, "She knows the filibuster is the Holy Grail of democracy. ... It's the only thing that keeps us talking and working together."
Senator Kyrsten Sinema concurred, “To state the supremely obvious, eliminating the filibuster to codify Roe v. Wade also enables a future Congress to ban all abortion nationwide. What an absolutely terrible, shortsighted idea.”
In summary: Kamala will avoid answering questions, risk crumbling our government, and lie to advance her radical abortion agenda.
#4 Transgender Affirming “Care”
THEN: In 2019, Kamala filled out a survey indicating her support of federally funding gender-transition surgeries for prisoners and illegal aliens, calling it a “medical necessity” and “essential.”
In more recent times, the Biden-Harris administration has shown strong support of LGBTQ “care” for gender-confused children — including opposition to banning gender-transition surgeries for minors.
NOW: While her campaign site makes clear that she supports the “Equality Act” — an extreme bill that would require religious organizations to promote LGBTQ activities, destroy gender privacy in locker rooms and bathrooms, and trample on parental rights — it says nothing about the specific matter of transgender surgery for illegal aliens, prisoners, and children.
During a Fox News interview, she dodged a question on two of those three points. The host asked: “Are you still in support of using taxpayer dollars to help prison inmates or detained illegal aliens to transition to another gender?” She replied: “I will follow the law,” adding such care occurred while Trump was president as well.
To be clear, no trans surgeries occurred under the Trump administration — they first occurred under Biden-Harris.
Regardless, her refusal to directly answer the question underscores the radical nature of her “values.”
And let’s not forget the reasonable assumption that a presidential candidate stands behind their selected running mate, who, in this case, thinks kidnapping gender-confused children so they can receive gender-affirming “care” (including mutilating surgeries) is an acceptable way to advance the LGBTQ agenda.
#5 Health Care
THEN: In 2017 and 2019, Vice President Harris supported Bernie Sanders’ universal health care plan, going so far as to co-sponsor his “Medicare for All Act,” which would have abolished private health insurance.
In 2019, she walked this back, stating she would keep private insurers.
In fact, Kamala "flip-flopped" more than once on health care in the last several years, and at one point, supported a policy that would have cost 11 times that of Obamacare.
NOW: Her new plan is an expansion of the Affordable Care Act — among other things — having stated, “When I am president, we will do that for all people [cap the cost of prescription medication], understanding that the value I bring to this is that access to health care should be a right.”
As one news commentator points out, “Harris was a co-sponsor [of universal health care] until she decided it would be a political liability.”
#6 Fracking
THEN: In 2019, Kamala wanted to ban fracking, going so far as to double down in an interview by stating, “There’s no question, I’m in favor of banning fracking." A year later, after joining the Biden ticket, she was asked about the issue in a vice-presidential debate, at which time she “did not reveal her position on fracking, instead saying Biden would not ban fracking.”
NOW: She doesn’t want to ban fracking, claiming: “What I have seen is that we can grow, and we can increase a clean energy economy without banning fracking.” Similarly, during the presidential debate, she stated: “I will not ban fracking ... in fact, I was the tie-breaking vote on the Inflation Reduction Act, which opened new leases for fracking.”
Another flip-flop that — like building the wall — is a major one. And by the way, being the tie breaking vote on the Inflation Reduction Act is nothing to be proud of.
The End Justifies the Means
One may argue that “the end justifies the means,” but the means used by the Harris campaign — walking back, reversing, obfuscating, and lying about key policy stances while claiming she has preserved her “values” — leave voters in a lurch. Indeed, she and those supporting her seem to say things to appease the extreme wing of the party without actually committing to specific policy positions.
The fact is: Kamala Harris cannot be trusted. And if she holds to values that promote murdering babies and mutilating children, she is unfit for any office, let alone the highest in the land.
